Bella Multi-Function Electric 6 Litre Pressure and Slow Cooker Review

My slow cooker is my main kitchen appliance, I try and use it everyday and it's literally a god send at times. The problem is is only a 3 litre and sometimes I find it a big small, as a family of four. I was so excited when we got asked to review the Bella Multifunction 6L Electric Pressure Cooker

It's a huge 6 litres, but not only is it a slow cooker it's a pressure cooker too it cooks  Food 70% Faster Than Conventional Ovens. What I love about this is you can use timers ( my current one has a low, high and warm function only). There is also a 2-hour delay time for easy planning and can slow cook for up to 12 hours. This is what I feel I've been missing from my current slow cooker. The unit itself is big, but it's very modern in the silver stainless steel. The instructions are very simple and straight forward to use.

As it's a multi function you can cook family-sized roasts, juicy pulled pork, braised lamb shanks or even comforting pasta dishes whilst locking in all the flavours at the same time. When you use the Bella cooker, you will save energy and time while creating delicious meals that preserve nutrients often lost in conventional cooking.

As you all know I'm currently doing slimming world, so it's been put to the test. My chicken and noodle soup took 20 mins from start to finish and it tasted delicious on the soup setting.

Chilli con carne took a mere 25 minutes, the mince was tender and it melted in your mouth.

Features:

* 12 easy one touch digital functions for family meals made in minutes
* 1000W power to cut cooking time in half
* Cook up to 70% faster based on testing using a conventional electric oven
* Removable non-stick coated cooking pot for easy cleaning
* Locking lid opens only once pressure is released
* Steam valves regulate cooking pressure

A New Year, A New You Campaign.

I love a good film and in total honesty if it isn't something I'm watching with the kids it will be a horror flick. I've been challenged to try something new and watch films i wouldn't normally reach for.

The following films have been picked for me which are an inspirational bunch. Out of this list I have only watched one of the films and that is "Free Willy".

Dolphin Tale
Free Willy
Invictus
The Perfect Storm
42

These films are all available on Amazon here : http://amzn.to/2jyDh0f

Free Willy was one of my favourite films that I used to watch. As a teen I was really in to dolphins and whales and was hugely fascinated by sealife creatures. So in a round up an Orca whale ( Willy) gets caught by some fisherman and ends up in an aquarium . Meanwhile, a street kid runs afoul of the law and gets caught vandalising the marina, but his social worker gets him off the provided he cleans up his mess at the marina. While there, he befriends the whale and teaches him tricks, something the trainer hasn't been able to do. But when Willy is a dud in front of the audience, the marina owner plans some bad things, and the boy and his friends must try free the whale before it's too late.

Invictus Following the fall of apartheid, newly elected President Nelson Mandela faces a South Africa that is racially and economically divided. Believing he can unite his countrymen through the universal language of sport, Mandela joins forces with Francois Pienaar, captain of the rugby team, to rally South Africans behind a bid for the 1995 World Cup Championship.

Dolphin Tale A story centered on the friendship between a boy and a dolphin whose tail was lost in a crab trap and has a prosthetic tail fitted.

The Perfect Storm It is an adaptation of the 1997 non-fiction book of the same title by Sebastian Junger, which tells the story of the Andrea Gail, a commercial fishing vessel that was lost at sea with all hands after being caught in the Perfect Storm of 1991

42 The the powerful story of Jackie Robinson, the legendary baseball player who broke Major League Baseball's color barrier when he joined the roster of the Brooklyn Dodgers.

Top Tips With Dealing With Unwanted Guests

The thing I dread most is my daughter picking up headlice, I know it's all part and parcel of school life but they are so hard to get rid of. I'm trying my best to prevent it as much as I can.  It can be frustrating, as sometimes it takes a while to discover the little critters. Normally buy the time there are signs ( itching and scratching) the infestation has already taken place. I use a few drops of tea tree oil in shampoo and it's used regularly at family bath time im hoping it stamps out infestation before it takes hold, killing the lice that have unknowingly been contracted. This is only a prevention and doesn't always detour the lice.

When looking for lice they normally like places behind the ears and the nape of the neck and generally near the scalp.A head louse is a small insect, visible to the naked eye, about the size of a sesame seed (2 to 3 mm), which lives on the scalp and feeds on human blood. It has six legs armed with pincers used to cling to the hair, they move very quickly, which explains why it is so hard to catch them. They are normally a clear/white colour. The lice multiply rapidly and after only a week the female lice can lay 5-10 eggs per day. Then only after a week they will hatch and reach adulthood in two weeks. The life cycle of a louse is only 50 days, but the infestation if not treated can go from one to hundreds really fast.

There are two types of solutions against lice, treatments with the use of repellents and products which act mechanically. Lice have developed resistance to some repellents which can irritate young children's scalps. Those formulated with dimethicone and silicone derivative, of synthetic origin and harmful to the environment.

Those formulated with vegetable oils, which are natural. Puressentiel  Anti-Lice range is guaranteed to be from 100% natural origin and gentle for young people's scalps.
Puressentiel product is effective, practical, natural, harmless and acts quickly.  The formula is  be gentle to the hair and scalp (no neurotoxic repellents), from 100% natural origin and harmless to the environment.

Pros to using Puressentiel :

* effective in 10 minutes

Keeping Your Home Safe.

Times have changed and it's so easy now to leave your home unsafe. Gone are the times when you could leave your door open and the neighbours just pop in and out as they please.

When trying to keep safety at a minimum and your valuables safe. I've put together a little list of tips that will help you think about keeping safe.

Alarms are great if you can afford one and get it checked regularly, as they can deter burglars if they see one in place.

Rubbish left out on view, can be huge. Especially if you have just got a nice new 60" TV. Burglars will put two and two together and target your home.

Make sure all windows are locked tight before you leave, even safely locks aren't 100%  on keeping people out. They are good as extra security though.

If you are leaving bikes, scooters etc outside on your property. Invest in a good bike lock to keep them safe. I know sometimes it's very hard to find places in the home for such big items. Bike locks are really cheap and they will keep it safe.

Safes and key cupboards are so handy to have for personal belongings and keys that you need to keep safe. Fast keys uk Have some great examples of products to keep your items of value locked tight.  ‬

Plastic Fantastic - Spring Cleaning & Declutter!

The kids start back at school tomorrow and it's time for a massive declutter and spring clean. I really mean business when I say this, we live in a two bedroom flat as a family of four and there is just far to much stuff we have got, so some of it has to go.

I've just bought some lovely plastic containers for sorting some items out. Plastic is a great way of sorting and storing items, it's wipe clean and very durable. The bathroom tubs have freed up the window ledge and makes the bathroom more tidy. We have a basket for the toothbrushes and toothpaste then a curved tub for all the products they we are using and are open. Instead of them being left on the bath, sink and window ledge.

I'm tired of opening a cupboard and things falling on me, the cupboards been full with boxes and half empty packets. I've sorted one box for all my slimming world stuff, so it's all in one place. Then another for the kids packed lunch items and treats. It's so much easier to just grab a box to look though rather than rummaging around in a cupboard.

We also invested in some lovely clear plastic acrylic shelves for Raiden's Funko pops. Not only do they display nice and evenly, they are now easier to dust and keep clean. Where as before we had the, all clumped together not being able to see them. They are all spaced out and tidier. These are a great idea if your child has a huge collection of something which they just want to display rather than place with.

I really start as I mean to go on, these little storage hacks free up so much extra space, I thought we didn't have. Simply Plastics have some great plastic ideas from kitchen splash backs for DIY to replacement table tops. 2017 is definitely the year for sorting and getting myself in to gear.

Lushie For Life - What I Always Have In My Shopping Bag

So 2017 is the year I'm going to stop hiding away, the blog is going to focus slightly more on me and have more balance of different topics not just reviews! So their is no better way than a lush post is there?

I only recently got in to lush a few years ago. I'm not a total lushie that all my beauty products come from there, but I still have quite a few items I regularly buy from there.

Bath bombs are amazing and I haven't met another bath bomb that smells so amazing. I love the colour displays, but sometimes you can get that pee colour once it's all mixed in... Sorry yoga bomb you are one of those!

My favourite ever bath bomb was " Cinders" it didn't return this year, it was only a small bath bomb but the scent was amazing!! The bomb itself is sweet & spicy sweet inspired by fireside gatherings with family and friends. With the surprise of crackling vegan popping candy & stimulating cinnamon leaf oil to recreate the warmth of the heart.

If I had to pick a bath bomb from the current range I would go for the " The Experimenter " the unique shape and the colours that come off this bath bomb are amazing. It has popping candy included to, so not only do you get the colour burst you also get the lovely popping sound too while it's dissolving. The vetivert & sweet vanilla scent is amazing, which clings on you throughout the day.

The " Big " shampoo I've been using for a few years, it takes some getting used to as it's sea salt and it's very chunky and gritty when you first use. It the lather you get from it is pretty impressive, start at the roots and work your way down and it's amazing. It's been great for the issue of dandruff and leaves my hair squeaky clean.  It's expensive at £12 a pot, but a little goes a long way.

Ocean Salt face & body scrub is something I use once a week to clear and exfoliate my skin. The citrus scent is lovely and it has a mixture of different texture sea salts, balanced with coconut oil and avocado butter to soften the skin.

Are You A Fan Of Vintage Jewellery ??

I'm a massive lover of Jewellery, who doesn't love a bit of sparkle. The past few years I've had some stunning pieces hanging up, but I've been so worried about the weight I had put on that all of my Jewellery has taken a back seat. Now I'm down three stone I'm ready to shine and find even more sparkles to add to my collection. I've made it a resolution to wear something jewellery wise everyday. I'm going to start hounding some charity shops as I would love some more vintage pieces in my collection.

I have this stunning vintage gold locket, which was my dads aunties. Which got past down to me a few years ago. It's a simple piece and it's really light. I'm a bit frighted to wear it in case I lose it, as it hold that special value to it. It's nice to have something to hold on to and look back on.

My nan gave me this bow brooch, which I've had sitting in my wardrobe for years and years. I had totally forgotten about it so it's been added on to my coat.

Berganza antique jewellery have some stunning statement pieces. Perfect for a special gift, birthday or even an engagement. I've selected five pieces that caught my eye on the site.

Marchak carved sapphire and diamond cocktail ring, French, circa 1940.

Victorian turquoise and diamond clover brooch, circa 1850.

Diamond drop earrings, circa 1920.

Ancient Egyptian snake ring, circa 30BC-323AD.

Sunset diamond brooch, circa 1840.

The Big Blogger Quiz Of The Year 2016-2017

I don't normally join in with blogger link ups, but looking back on my year 2016. It's actually been a pretty good year. We have had a few moments in general and at times it's been tough, but I've made some huge changes.

The lovely Laura over at petitmoi-bigworld tagged me, so here are the questions.

'What Was The Highlight of 2016?'

I'm going to be very selfish and a bit vain with this answer, but my highlight has been nominated for Miss Slinky at my slimming world group. I've been so sad about my weight and 2016 was the year I made progress. Losing weight has helped so much with my anxiety and depression & I feel like a different person.

'Name One Thing You Are Most Likely To Remember About 2016 if Asked in 5 Years?'

One thing in 2016 was sort of expected but I'm still struggling to come to terms with now. Raiden being diagnosed with Autism was a huge blow for me, it's taken so long for him to get diagnosed that when it did, it was like a ton of bricks and an elephant sitting on me. Thankfully now, I know he is getting the extra help he needs at school and people are being tat more patient with him now.

'Sum Up 2016 in One Word'

" Progress" so much has changed for my not only physically but mentally too. My head is in such a Better place than it has been in for a while.

'Name One Pearl of Wisdom from 2016 That You'll Carry With You Through 2017'

Everyday is different, baby steps turn in to bigger steps. Keep going and reach high for them goals. If one day does t go right. Draw a line under it, one bad day shouldn't rule you.

'Do You Have Any New Years Resolutions?'

I never make them as I don't stick to them. Some goals I have put in place are to lose my final 16lbs and to be that little big kinder to myself in 2017.

'How Are You/Did You See(ing) in The New Year?'

Just me at home, I watched a film and fell asleep. I'm so rock and roll.

'What Would You Most Like To Do in 2017?'

I would love to take the kids on a plane
Swim with dolphins
Try pole dancing
Run a colour run
Zorbing
Watch a ballet
Take up yoga

'What Are Your Main Goals For 2017?'

Keep positive and happy. Enjoy the good days and don't beat myself up on the bad!
