DIY Giant Surprise Eggs

I wanted to do something different than stockings this year. Lexie showed me the huge surprise eggs on YouTube and they come in all different patterns and sizes. So this year I decided to make two of my own and fill them with what I would of popped in their stockings this year.

First of all you need a big balloon, I got the 3ft one off eBay for 99p each. They took around 3 weeks to arrive.

I blew the balloon up then started to cover the balloon with large strips of newspaper that had been dipped in glue which I had mixed with water. I did half water half glue mixture. I layered around 6 times, it got a bit confusing after a while, so I think if I do it again I will use newspaper then another colour paper so I know I’m fully covering it.

I left to dry for around 5 days until it was hard. Then I covered again in white paper strips and glue and left to dry again. Once fully dry pop the balloon and pull out.

With it being already white it was easier to paint over rather than having to coat it with lots of white paint. I only needed one coat of white paint to cover the whole egg. Leave to dry again for 24/48 hours.

I drew the designs in pencil, then once I was happy I went over in permanent maker then started to paint each design. Then once painted leave to dry again.

To get the items inside I made a flap where the balloon hole was, once I got everything inside. I covered the hole with a couple of strips of white paper, so it was sealed.

Then I wrapped in cellophane and popped on a bow.

Balloons £1.99
Glue £2.00
Newspaper free
Cellophane £1.00
Bows £1
Paint free ( already had)

Total cost £5.99 for 2.

Make Christmas Easy With One4all Gift Card

One4all Gift Card is a leading multi-store gift card  which can be spent in over 50,000 retailers nationwide. The cards can be used online as well as in lots of shops too. Instead of carrying cash around with you while shopping a quick and easy card, which you can swipe and carry on to the next shop.

To mark three new retailers joining the One4all Gift Card scheme- Clarks, Carphone Warehouse and Laithwaite’s, One4all have created a blogger challenge for me to host an event with items all purchased with a One4all Gift Card. Exciting!

So Christmas Eve, I’m hosting a little family get together. I probably will stock up on wines and spirits with a little help from Laithwaite’s. With a few nibbles and festive decorations from Marks & Spencer. I’m also going to be making a hamper for my mom with a few bits in which I pick up. I will be updating with my purchases and what I think about using the One4all gift card when I’m out and about in town.

Baylis & Harding At Christmas.

Who isn’t a fan of the fabulous Baylis & Harding. I’m always happy to grab a set of my favourite brand. I often buy set for my friends for Christmas, not only are they amazing gift sets they also come in amazing packing too. With Baylis and Harding there is something for everyone within everyone’s budget. Little stocking fillers start from £4. Plus they cater for everyone with different gift sets with different products in and not your standard body wash and lotion. I’ve had many sets that have had slippers, hot water bottle covers and even a dressing gown if you wanted to spend a little bit more. I love all the extra baskets and tins that you can reuse too, filling them up with little bathroom bits too.

Another great lot of scents this year and I’m always amazed how they bring out bigger and better stuff than the year before.

Mini gold bath set - Sweet mandarin & grapefruit shower creme and body butter. Perfect for a little stocking filler or secret Santa for someone this year for Christmas.

Luxury hamper - La Maison creme brûlée & cocoa. Comes in a lovely lined wicker basket. Inside is Body butter, body polisher & body cleanser. You could even add a few more items in to this, to make it an even bigger present for a loved one.

Carnival treats - This fantastic duo set comes in super large sizes. The sweet caramel popcorn body butter is 250ml & candy apple body wash is 300ml.

Midnight fig and pomegranate balancing body wash. This comes in jumbo size at 500ml. I love getting different body wash at Christmas as it seems all the fantastic scents come out and this is amazing. It was the first thing I opened and something that would be perfect on my Christmas list.

The winter spice and berries candle is really unique. I love the pretty print on the front and the gold lid Christmas tree. The scent is very Christmas with the winter spice scent. The scent is really nice and isn’t overly strong and overpowering. Even if you didn’t want to burn the candle it would make a lovely decoration for Christmas.

We normally buy Baylis & Harding handwash as I love how soft it makes your hands after. This Gold, frankincense and myrrh luxury hand wash p, definitely fills you will Christmas spirt and I loved the festive picture on the bottle too.

Baylis and Harding sport wash bag with hair & body wash and aftershave balm. This is going to be a fab little stocking filler for my dad. A mini washbag with hair and body wash and an aftershave balm.
