Sweet Cecily's Elderflower & Almond Hand Cream Review

I did a post not long ago about what 5 luxuries I would take on a dessert island with me. One of those items was hand cream. I literally have a hand cream in every room and one in my handbag so I have one wherever I go, I use it in all seasons and Its something that's always around. I have really dry hands because I wash them hands so much throughout the day. Sweet Cecily's asked me to review one of there hand creams. I reviewed some of there lip balms last year and I thought they was fantastic, read about it here.

Sweet Cecilys is a online place to purchase lovely natural skincare products which are all handmade on the North Yorkshire Moors.  They believe in only using the finest ingredients,  products are free from Parabens, Petrochemicals, harmful preservatives and SLS. None of their products are tested on animals, nor are any of the ingredients.

The item came in a little cloth bag with a little note luggage tag. I like little extra packing like this as it shows that every order is important and that little bit extra goes a long way. The cream comes in a small plastic tub with a screw on lid. I'm so used to squeezy tubes that I don't think I've ever had an hand cream like this before.

The scent of the hand cream is elderflower and almond, it's not something I normally would of put together but it actually smells really nice. You get the blast of floral then nutty, it actually works very well together. I've noticed Elderflower has become very popular lately and it's been used with a lot of different things now. It isn't normally a scent I would pick up but its growing on me. The hand cream is a decent thickness, smooths easily and absorbs really quick. It doesn't leave a greasy layer and leaves your hands feeling refreshed and smooth.

ZBox Lucky Dip

A few weeks ago, Zavvi had a Mystery box lucky dip box for sale. It's basically items from previous boxes at a discounted price. They must have had quite a bit of overstock as I know a huge amount of people did buy them. I was one of the lucky ones as I got a Funko pop vinyl in mine, which for the £9.08 I paid for the box. The Funko then pays for the box itself. It wasn't a pop I was going to collect in total honestly, but after seeing some pictures of what people got I was very lucky. I haven't bought any of the ZBox before so I didn't have the risk of receiving any doubles and there was some fun quirky things in them.

The box contained :

Gertie Pop Vinyl
Southpark Fridge Magnet
Transformer Stressball
Zombie DVD
Thundercats Holographic Card

Overall for the price I thought it was a pretty good box. It seems everyone got the Transformer, Thundercat and Southpark item in theirs.

Dinosaur Necklace From Ji Ji Kiki Review

Ji Ji Kiki is a lovely independent website which was founded in by a lovely lady named Emma. Its based on a love of vintage, retro and all things a little quirky. She began just selling a small line of her handmade kitsch jewellery. Since then the website has grown to include homewares, vintage and kawaii jewellery, bags, hair accessories and clothing from indie designers from around the world.

I'm a massive fan of anything random and quirky, my sense of style my other half would say looks like I've got dressed in the dark with my eyes closed. I don't wear much jewellery but when I do it's normally bold and unique. Ji Ji Kiki asked me to review one of there new ranges of animal necklaces, there was a choice of Elephants, Dinosaur, Origami Fox Face, Origami Squirrel or Running Fox.

I've always been fascinated with anything Dinosaur I think they are amazing creatures, so many sizes and types. After watching Jurassic World last week I couldn't resist the little Dino.

The necklace itself is so tiny and adorable, very simple and elegant. It's actually the total opposite of what I would normally wear, I've had a few comments already with how dainty it is. I've really fallen in love with how pretty it is.

The website is amazing and I've done a little collage of my favourite things that caught my eye while browsing. I think I'm gonna have to snap up the T-Rex necklace with my birthday money, it's too fabulous not to own.

What Has Lexie Been Wearing This Week - Trendy Tot Thursday (#TT_Thursday)

I've missed two weeks of Trendy Tot Thursday  (#TT_Thursday). I've just not found the time to do extra posts the past two weeks. The blog has been very busy and I had quite a few posts backed up. Now it's all smoothed out, I'm back!

Lexie is even in a pair of trousers this week, which is so rare. Shes normally in a skirt or dress in any weather. I picked up these Frozen leggings from the Asda sale. They are the Frozen fever design and was reduced to £3.  They are nice for the cooler summer weather.

The top is from TU ( Sainsbury's) the shoulders are lace with a button detail front. The sides of the top are longer so it gives it a nice unique shape. I love the powder blue colour and I think it goes well with her leggings this week.

Cosmic G's Mystery Crate - May

Cosmic G is a pretty new subscription box, I signed up for May as the theme was " Fear". I like all the horror based themes, so was excited to see want it had to offer. The box it's £20 including delivery, which is around the normal price for a mystery subscription box. By looking at the photos others have uploaded on to their Facebook page, everyone got totally different items included.

I managed to get the battle worn Buffy Funko Pop, which is £19.99 on its own in value. I don't actually collect Buffy and sold my Willow pop literally about two weeks ago. Wish I had kept it now.

Childs play magnet

Dracula loves kills PC game

I still know what you did last summer blu-ray

Marvel secret wars comic

Bride of Frankenstein card

Overall I was happy with my box, only problem it seemed Royal Mail used my box as a football upon delivery, but I will be looking out for other themes that gather my interests in future. This month is closed and the theme was Batman. I was planning on getting it but I totally forgot the cut of point.

My Ten Things That Gave Me A Smile This Month

Totally forgot about this Linky last month but my previous one before that was here http://www.trialstribulationsofabrummiemummy.co.uk/…/ten-th…
I'm linking up with A Cornish Mums Blog where you link up any Ten Things you can think off. Sometimes I find it hard to source a positive out and I just need a reminder of how much positive things are going on around me. Sometimes just the simple things can make you turnaround.

1 - Wax tarts, after my melt crowd subscription I really can't believe I didn't try them sooner. I think I prefer them than candles now.

2 - Overnight Oats - These are perfect for a energy burst in the morning and so simple to do the night before.

3 -  Hannibal - I'm so happy it's back on, it's slightly strange and confusing in some parts but it's a fantastic show.

4 - Last year I managed to pick up some Roald Dahl books for £3 off a local selling site. Raiden hasn't been Interested till a few weeks ago and so far we have read George's Marvellous Medicine & now The Twits. It's been really nice to share a story together then him carrying on and reading himself then telling me after what's happened. I hope it starts his love for reading.

5 - My daughters drawings, my daughter wouldn't pick a crayon up before she started Nursery she loved to paint and get messy by drawing was something she didn't like. She has come on so much and now can draw a person with arms, body and legs.

6 - Summer scents - D&G The One &  Harajuku Lovers Love, both are very summery scents.

7 - Preparing activities for the summer holidays, I can't believe it's going to be a few weeks then   They have over six weeks off. We are playing a trip down to London, the beach and a water park.

8 - June as its my Birthday, I've got lots of lovely gifts this year clothes, perfume, trainers, bags, & money.

9 - Sorry but I'm going to mention the C word ( Christmas) I got my daughters main present already as it had a huge saving. Reduced from £70 to £35 then I had an Amazon voucher for £10. So it cost me £25 in total.

10 - Lately I've been saying no to a few opportunities, I'm trying to work on a steady workload so I'm not too bogged down with working about my blog. I'm trying to do some different content and I'm working on my photos and writing.

Pop In A Box - June

Sadly no Lexie unboxing this month, as she been poorly so I didn't think it was right to film her this time. She did help unbox them as usual though. I mentioned in my post last month, I had upped my subscription to 6 pops this month, due it being my birthday. I knew no one would buy me any pops for my birthday, just incase I had them already or preordered.

My subscription this month was AMAZING

This is our 3rd Pocket Pop tin from Pop In A Box now, in the past we have received Frozen & My Little Pony. My son collects DC so he was thrilled with this set.

We have wanted Zero for a while and he fits in perfect with our collection. Still looking for a Major but he is mega hard to get hold of.

Star Sapphire Wonder Women has been on my list for a while, although Raiden did try and claim it earlier as it is DC.

Blue Lantern - The Flash - I didn't realize I had thumbed this up, but again Raiden has welcomed him with open arms.

Leviathan Castiel is awesome and I now have all the Castiel's until the French one comes out in July.

Bride Of Frankenstein - Glow in the dark - I'm really pleased with this one as she is a really cool character. I do like the glow in the dark variants.

Loves And Likes - June

I'm going to start making sure I do a likes and loves post now monthly. I think it's a nice round up of things that have given me a smile this month. As you know it was my birthday this month, so two of the items are birthday goodies.

Harajuku Lovers Perfume

I'm not just a collector of Funko Pop Vinyls, I have another collection which has been going for around 6 years which is a Harajuku Lovers Perfume collection. I love the Kawaii style bottles and I think they are also great display pieces once the perfume is gone. My favourite scent is " Love " but they have an array of scents which I think would suit everyone preferences. They recently launched a new set of limited edition metallic bottles. I received the pink one for my birthday and I just think it's really cool. They also come in Silver, Blue, Light Pink & Purple.

Teatulia Tea

One of my downfalls in my diet is my fluid intake, I'm trying so hard at the moment to drink something else that isn't a strong cup of tea with milk & sugar. I really don't get thirsty a lot, so tea is literally all I drink now. Teatulia got in touch and asked if I wanted to try some of their organic tea. Their organic teas are grown and cultivated in a way that respects the land on which it's grown, the community of workers who produce it and the people who drink it.

The tea comes in the following flavours :

Lemongrass
Tulsi
Earl Of Bengal
Green Tea
Black Tea

You add the tea bag to boiling water, leave to infuse for a few minutes then drink. I've found the teas are nicer to drink when they are just warm and I've really enjoyed the favours, especially the Green Tea. Or for an invigorating summer treat, let cool and splash over ice.

TeaTulia ICED Tea Recipes

ALCHOLIC

The Tequila Cilantro Cocktail

Muddle 2 Cilantro (Coriander) leaves with a splash of lime juice

Mix, 2 1/2 oz. Blanco Tequila
1 oz. Lemongrass Simple Syrup
1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
Shake over ice and strain into a cocktail glass
Float a thin slice of Jalapeno on the top.
For Lemongrass Simple Syrup-- steep 2 bags of Teatulia Lemongrass Tea in 16oz of hot water with 6 oz. of sugar. Cover and allow to cool completely. Refrigerate after use. Holds up to a week.

NON ALCHOLIC/HEALTHY

Why not give each of these approaches to brewing iced tea a try? Each offers tea lovers a subtle difference when compared to the other techniques. The beauty of enjoying iced tea is that it is simple to prepare.

(Option 1-Brewing)

First, brew hot tea as you normally would, then pour over ice. It is recommended to chill the tea before pouring over ice to prevent dilution.

(Option 2-Make a Concentrate)

Brew your tea with a higher ratio of tea to water than usual. For example, use 15 Teatulia pyramid bags per gallon of water to make a concentrate. Dilute the concentrate as you are ready to enjoy it.

(Option 3-Sweet Tea)

First, boil water and prepare tea as you normally would. However, while you are doing this, boil one cup of water and 3/4 cup of sugar, stirring and mixing this combination as it heats. After steeping the tea bags, add the sugar mixture, then mix well. Garnish with lemon or a sprig of mint—or whatever you wish.

Teatulia teas retail at £3.40 for 20 individually wrapped sachets and are available from Holland & Barrett, Harrods, independent health and wholefood stores nationwide.

Primark Wrap

Another one of my presents was this wrap, my mom came a few weeks ago which a light coloured one and I mentioned I liked it but would prefer it in a darker colour. It's from Primark and it's great for just popping on for the school run in the mornings or popping over the shop. It's one size and very light and comfortable to wear.

Nail Wrapz

Everyone knows what a lover of nail polish I am. Trouble is you need a good block of time to prep, paint and clean up after doing your nails. With the base coat, two layers and top coat it takes forever to dry and you need it to dry so it doesn't smudge. Nail Wrapz sent me some of their popular designs to try out.

Hatch
Jawbreaker
Lace Sky Blue
Pebble Pink

There is a huge amount of design choice with nail wraps, so if you are off somewhere special they are easier to use than nail polish. You can use a quirky design then if you need to remove quickly the next day you just peel them off, no using a heap of cotton wool and nail polish remover to get them off.

Their wraps include 40 pieces, which is enough for 2 manicures, 2 pedicures, and bonus accent nails.  Our process uses state of the art printing with a clear scratch resistant layer on top of the best materials available, giving you a nail wrap that looks great and lasts.  The secret is the heat and pressure activated adhesive on the wraps that seals the wrap to your nails.
For best results follow all instructions.

Items you will need:
Nail Wrapz Sheet
Nail File
Rubber Cuticle Pusher
Rubbing Alcohol
Tweezers (optional)
Nail Trimmers (optional)
Hair Dryer (or other heat source)
