October Degustabox Review & Recipe

We reviewed a Degustabox last March and was utterly thrilled with it. We was lucky to be asked to review another this month and again we was very happy with the contents of it. Degustabox is a monthly box with between 9-14 food and drink products in. Price is £12.99 including postage. Got to admit in my box some the products I got I wouldn't of picked up myself in a shop, I suppose that is the whole point of the box an add on surprise of something you wouldn't get.

Brioche Pasquier Brioche Loaf £1.69

The kids loved the loaf my daughter is obsessed with chocolate spread so this went so well with it. The brioche loaf is made using the same traditional methods as their rolls. Delightful at any time of day and versatile as a snack, meal or ingredient, this loaf is sliced for your convenience and ready to go. Super soft and sweet.

Brioche Pasquier Pain Au Lait With Chocolate Chips  £1.60

These have been a hit in the lunch boxes with a bit of butter on, sweet and delicious. They used the same traditional recipe and baking expertise as the Pain au Lait and added some delicious dark chocolate chips. These rolls are soft and tasty, and ideal for a sweet snack or for breakfast.

Special K Cracker Crisps  – £1.29

I'm already a massive fan of these crisps they are 60% less fat than normal standard crisps so they are great if you are feeling a bit naughty. They are a mix of a standard crisp and a popped crisp and are gorgeous tasting. Perfect for a light and tasty snack. This flavour is now my favorite of them all yum!

Get Buzzing Original Nutty Bar – £1.30

This is a 100% totally natural bar/Flapjack and is packed to the brim with tons of fruit and nuts. I really didn't like the texture or the taste of this it felt too jelly for me. The bar Re-fuels the body for up to 3 hours. Only 2% saturated fat. Perfect before, during & after sport. A unique healthy snack bar for anyone on the go.

Enhance Drinks PassionFruit – £1.49

I love these versions of drinks, they come in handy when you have kids and are out and about. They turn plain water in to a juice drink with one squirt and are perfect for just popping in to a bag. I thought that these was great they are made with real fruit juice. no artificial colours, flavours or added sugar. Only 1 kcal per drink, which is great if you are planning on drinking more water though the day.

This is something I have wanted to try for ages and it is really nice. It can get a bit sickly as its super sweet. Solo Toasted Marshmallow Creme brings the campfire indoors with a delicious toasted marshmallow flavor that is perfect for s'mores. The kids have loved smearing this all over plain biscuits.

Blue Dragon Sweet Chili Sauce - £1.39

Last but not least was the Blue Dragon sweet chili sauce. As I have got older I am loving anything that has chili in. We got 2 of these in the box and I think its going to be a staple in our cupboard forever now. The sauce itself leaves a little tingle in your mouth and I made a lovely Quorn chicken pasta meal with it.

Ingredients

Two Quorn fillets
1/4 green & red pepper.
Five plum tomatoes.
Three tablespoons of sweetcorn.
50g of plain pasta
Blue dragon sweet chili sauce.

Method

Cook pasta in boiling water for around 12-15 minutes.
Cook the Quorn fillets for around 15 minutes in the oven.
Cut the pepper and tomato and add to a frying pan with a teaspoon of olive oil, add the fillets and sweetcorn. Cook for around 4/5 minutes then add the sweet chili sauce. Cook until the sauce has warmed up then serve with pasta.
