Christmas Jam & Marmalade Tarts With Mackay's.

Mince pies are a huge no, no here. Daddy is outnumbered when it comes to this topic. I tend to make Jam tarts with the kids instead for the Christmas season. Mackay's sent us some of there new yummy Christmas jams and marmalade to test and try out. So me and my three year old made some lovely tarts.

Ingredients :

8 oz plain flour
Pinch of salt
4oz butter
2-3 tbsp cold water
Mackay's Jam and marmalade

Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C/Gas 4.

Place the flour, butter and salt into a bowl. Rub the butter into the flour with your fingers until it goes in to breadcrumbs. Add the water to the mixture bit by bit until the dough binds together.

Wrap the dough in Clingfilm and chill for around 30 minutes in the fridge.

Unwrap the pastry onto a lightly floured work surface and roll .

Using cutter or cup, cut circles from the pastry just slightly bigger than the holes in the baking tray.

Place a heaped teaspoon of jam marmalade into the pastry.

Then add cut out angel from the remaining pastry.

Then bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes on gas mark 4

  1. These look lovely. I don't think I've ever tried Mackays products. Great blog. Go easy on the apostrophes. :-)
