Galt have come up with a great opportunity to get children interested in famous art plus getting crafty recreating it at the same time.
Earlier this year Galt asked famous contemporary artist Ed Chapman to recreate Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe portrait using Galt arts and crafts materials. The result was a stunning Marilyn Masterpiece, which just showed the fantastic artwork that can be achieved with the right supplies and a little bit of imagination.
Galt has now launched its very own ‘Mini Masterpiece’ series – 6 templates from famous works of art that little ones can print and decorate themselves, to create their very own mini masterpieces! This month, Galt offered a fantastic ‘Monet’ piece of art on the website, which children can download and design themselves for a chance to win a fantastic arts and craft bundle worth £50.
Galt very kindly sent us one of there sponge painting kits to get us started on our Van Gogh masterpiece. Both the kids love painting so they really enjoyed the set. It want long before glitter and sparkles got placed on too.
Raiden is super careful with his work, section it out with different colours and using glitter for a different texture.
Lexie loves to cover to whole paper, so there isn't much white showing on hers. She liked the added sparkles on hers.
The Van Gogh Starry Night blog will run throughout May so go and check it out Here
