My Living World Snail World Review

My little dude has always loved the creepy crawly world. Last half term we saw some cool insects and he was able to look at them close up and even hold a few. Every week at school his class go on an adventure to forest school where the kids can explore and lift up bark and rocks to look under them. Its always been one of his favorite days.

We was sent a My Living World Snails from interplays range to test and review as its is National Science & Engineering Week coming  (from 14th - 23rd March).

My Living World is an award-winning range that explores the amazing world of living creatures. These kits are not only stimulating and great fun for kids but also help develop an understanding of the natural world and consideration for the environment. These products are very popular and ideal for those fascinated by nature.

The kit came just in time for his birthday and he was utterly delighted with it. In the kit you get a small clear tank with lid ( comes with holes so the snails can breathe), pipette to keep the tank moistened, forceps to pick up snails, magnifying lens to look up close and a Nick Baker comprehensive instruction guide.

First of all we washed the tank and dried it, added some moss and broken eggshells. We found a stick and some nice fresh leaves. Then him and daddy when on a snail hunt, he couldn't find any bigger snails due to it being pretty sunny for the past few days but he managed to find a few small ones under a rock.

The instruction guide is a really good source of information it tells you all about the different types of snails what they like to eat, background information and how to look after your pet. Its actually been very fascinating for bedtime reading. He has been very interested on how the snails move watching them with the microscope and feeding them different foods every day. We have already looked at the other ranges which include, Ant, Worm, Spider, Ladybirds and Triop. There is also a pocket microscope and bug safari kit which look very interesting.
