DIY KitKat Chocolate Pikmin Cake.

My son is a huge fan of the Nintendo game Pikmin and after getting really high quotes for a 7 inch jam, butter cream sponge Pikmin cake. It ranged from £85-£65. I decided to make my own.

I got the printed sugar icing from eBay which was £5.50 with postage.
I baked two sponges, left them cool, added jam and vanilla butter creme. Then used chocolate frosting ( i cheated and used Betty Crocker) to cover the lot. I stuck kitkats ( around two multipacks of the two fingers) all around the sides and put the sugar icing in the middle. I added a bit of ribbon around the outer just for decoration. Overall it cost me just under £10 to make. Which has been a massive saving. Best of all he loved the cake too.
