Gummy Bear - The Yummy Gummy Search For Santa DVD & Giveaway

We got a totally awesome parcel though the post, I was actually rather excited to show the kids. On holiday both kids loved the hit song " I am a gummy bear".  In our parcel it contained the new Gummy Bear - The Yummy Gummy Search For Santa DVD - Bear jelly mould and a pack of green jelly to make our own yummy gummy bear.

In this festive thrill-ride Santa has gone missing and Gummy Bear is taking it upon himself to find him and to save the day for the children of the world. More or less ably supported by his friends Harry (a Chameleon), Kala (a blue cat) and Vam Piro (a vampire bat who faints at the sight of blood), Gummy Bear must venture into the North Pole to track down the missing Santa, taking on aliens and more troubles along the way.

The film is great its been on everyday so far, Lexie loves the singing and dancing in there. There is also a selection with just the songs on. Was slightly disappointed that the original " I am a gummy bear" song isn't on there, it only plays for a few seconds in the film.  So we have hit YouTube for the hit single.  The film gets you laughing and it's hard not to love the little annoying bear, with his pants on that has a habit of wiggling his bum.

We have had fun making our own jelly gummy bear not once but twice it has been eaten up before I could take a picture! Hehe

The DVD is available on Amazon for £6

We have a special giveaway to win your own DVD by filling in the form below.

Simple Snowman craft with a one year old.

I love doing simple crafts so do my kids, I am one of them moms that always manage to forget something! If its baking I forget the eggs, if its sticking its the glue!

Lexie is getting to the age where she can follow simple instructions but hasn't got the attention span to do something that takes long.

So here is a simple activity with items you most likely with have around the house.

All you will need is:

White paper
Coloured paper or foam ( you can colour white paper in with colours )
Glue
Cotton wool

Cut out a snowman shape and paste with glue, I helped Lexie spread it around a bit. I cut out the hat, eyes, nose for her to stick on. She stuck all the wool and bits on herself.

Oriflame By Julie Make Up Review

Well I'm a bit naff with my make up, since having the kids. I am lucky to have time to put a brush though my hair never mind to put a face full of make up on.  I recently chuckled a lot of my make up away after finding out that make up has use by dates on. Whoops I had make up lurking in my make up box from ten years ago! Ewwwwww

So you can Image my delight when I found Oriflame By Julie was looking for some bloggers to test out some Oriflame makeup. I had heard of Oriflame before but I've never used any of there products.. I'm starting work soon so I have to look presentable and well groomed so  I've been eager to try some lovely new products.

''Nature has been the defining inspiration for Oriflame for more than 40 years
since it’s foundation in Sweden; where the spectacular, unspoilt beauty of
Swedish nature is a distinctive hallmark of there cosmetics. When formulating there products they strive to use natural ingredients that are in line with there strong environmental policies and are not harmful to the environment''

I was sent to review EverLasting Foundation which is transfer resistant, giving a flawless finish which retails at £7.95 - The foundation was really light, it absorbed really quick and gave an even natural Coverage. I like the pump action bottle which comes in handy too. It lasted around 5/6 hours,  before I touched up which I think was pretty good for a light foundation.

The next item was the bronzing pearls which retail at £16.95.This has got to be my all time favourite bronzing pearls. It leaves such a smooth feeling and blends lovely. Its not cakey and does not go on too thick just a nice bronze sheen which is just what I like. The pot looks like it last forever so its definitely value for money.

If you need to contact Julie you can on her Facebook page or you can email her on oriflamebyjulie@aol.com . She will be happy to answer any questions you have.

Thank You For The Smiles - Sleep Tight

I often get slumped with daily life, I forget the reasons what mean the most! Over the years I've met some amazing people, some that have helped me though my darkest hours. Though my phases of Facebook games darn you mafia wars and hatchlings to entering competitions.

I've always found it pretty hard to express how I feel, I've found a way now. Writing!

Over the past few months, I've had to face some dark demons & actually re-think about myself, my family and my state of mind.  I want to write here the amazing online support I have had from people I will never likely to meet. I just want to thank you for every smile you make me do, for every joke you write, the memes & the loving messages.

The last few weeks have been hard with a lot of my online friends, some who I can never actually do to help, but I hope the words can help and relive some of the pain in time. One of these friends of mine it the most beautiful and brave lady, that I would love to of met. She had been poorly for a long time in and out of hospital & I imagination in a great deal of pain. What is so amazing about this lady is that I never saw her moan about anything that she was going though, she cherished every breath and every hour she had longer with her family.  She was a joker always with the silly statues and pictures, she did love a good chuckle! She would openly share pictures of herself in hospital with tubes everywhere, to say she will not be beaten and that she will be taking a hell lot of more breaths. Sadly this inspirational women passed away today on her 55th Birthday.

" Heather I'm really going to miss you & I hope your celebration of life you so gratefully loved will live on. You have made me realise that I have everything I need right here and now, my health, nothing else matters. You have truly made me smile throughout the years - Thank you. I really hope you are in peace now. RIP and sleep tight"

The Village Hotel & Spa Review

Its rare I venture out these days, due to money or babysitter issues. So I was thrilled to be asked to review the village hotel, to use there spa faculties, a three course meal & a hotel stay.  I took my little sister along, and we headed up to Coventry, it's a short walk from the train station. On arrival we got there and it's pretty big & very modern. Even though check in was at 3 ( we got there bang on 3) we had to wait a further 25 minute's for our room to be ready, which I was slightly disappointed about as our treatments was at 4pm

When our room was ready we headed up, we had a twin room and it was really nice & clean. There was a kettle with tea, coffee, milk, sugar etc. The TV is the room was a little shaky though when we had it on before we headed down the dinner.

At 3.50 we headed down the spa, the atmosphere was really relaxing, low lights and its smelt wonderful, we was asked to fill in a form & waited in the relaxing area. The staff was super friendly and the two treatments ( facial and back massage was wonderful). The spa facility's was really clean, we saw staff a number of times cleaning. We liked the extra of the hair driers and the spinner to dry your swimming costume, so you don't have to take it soaking wet.

Dinner was lovely, we was showed to our seats and the waiter took our order & brought up a bottle of water.  I'm not a massive fan of red meat or fish, so I was pretty limited to what I could choose to be honest.

We ordered:

Chicken & leek terrine
Black pudding with poached egg

Chicken balti
Faggots & mash

New York cheesecake
Peanut butter & chocolate parfait

We ordered a bottle of wine which didn't arrive till we had nearly finished our starters. Apart from that our meal was fantastic and really nice. We both really enjoyed it. The staff was really professional.

After a good nights sleep we headed down to breakfast, there wasn't anyone around so we just sat down. Then realised we should of been seated. There was a massive selection of a cooked breakfast, pastry's, toast, cereal & fruit. We the options of fruit juice, coffee and tea.

We both really enjoyed out stay at the village hotel and we would definitely go back for another stay in the future.

The Village Hotel are running at the moment to win a pamper package for 2 people.

The closing date is 23rd November and full details of the competition can be found here: Click Here

Appliances Online Belling Cooker Review

Even though our old cooker wasn't that old (5 years) it was falling apart. The
ignition had gone a few years back and we had to manually light it. The front glass door would pop out to which was pretty dangerous. So we was thrilled to be asked to review a spanking new Belling electric cooker!

Got to admit I was really worried about changing from gas to electric, I had some things that electric wasn't too great for cooking.  The switch has actually been really simple.

Appliances Online was very good they phoned me up to arrange delivery & gave me a time slot. They phoned again on the day, to remind me it was coming.
The delivery guys was really nice and didn't question the flat stairs they had to lug the cooker up.

I was really pleased with how easy and simple the cooker is too use, nothing fancy that gets complicated. It's taken the same amount of time to cook things in the oven, as our gas one did.  The cooker is really compact to and doesn't take a lot of space up which s a big bonus too.

While the 22 litre top oven gives you conventional heat, you’re also getting fan heat in the larger 48 litre main oven. Fan cooking makes every part of the oven the same temperature, so your food cooks quicker and more evenly. Very handy for saving time on your cooking. Though for more traditional dishes the conventional heat is what gives you that home-made, golden finish to it. The top of the oven gets hotter than the bottom, making it perfect for pies, crumbles and even roast chickens too.

Both ovens have earned an A rating for energy use, making them very cheap to run. It’ll help you save money on your bills while the easy clean enamel coating helps you save time on your chores. The smooth enamel surface inside both ovens stops grease and fat from clinging to the sides. It makes cleaning much easier and you won’t have to spend money on expensive cleaning sprays either.

On top of the cooker is the solid plate hob with 4 individual heat zones. They come in different sizes, letting you easily match the zone to your various size pans – you won’t need to use big spaces for small pans and have heat escaping around the sides.

I would never off looked at a Electric cooker before and now I'm utterly thrilled with it.

Rug Doctor Review

When we moved, we decided on doing the whole place in one colour... CREME!! Yes what a massive mistake that was, it's survived food being splattered, toilet training ( that's happening again soon too arghhh) paint, glue, play dough you name it & it's most likely on there. Even though its nearly four years old it looks older, we decided not to bother replacing until the little one is done with potty training. We got a groupon deal around 7/8 months ago, which left the Carpet slightly better but we both said if we had the machine we could of done it a lot better. So you can imagination, My delight when asked if would like to try and review a Rug Doctor

As many things I review I had never heard of rug doctor before. In the UK, Rug Doctor carpet cleaning rental machines and the full range of Rug Doctor carpet cleaning products can be found in over 2,850 outlets across the country, including every B&Q, Homebase, Morrisons, Johnsons The Cleaners, The Range as well as in selected branches of Tesco, Asda, The Cooperative and other quality independent stores. You can hire it out from 24hrs  For a little over £30.00 for a 24 hour rental and detergent you can clean like a pro and save up to £160.00 compared to using professional carpet cleaners.

I set the other half to work and we was surprised how good the rug doctor was and little effort was used. We was totally amazed by the results, the water was pretty minging totally black even when we re did the area the water still came out dark and black.  With the one bottle of solution we managed to do the living room, entrance, kids room and half of the bedroom. I'm really happy now as I know the carpets are pretty clean before Christmas.

We have decided in January we are gonna hire it out again with a Couple bottle of solution and redo the rooms.

Here are some after new year tips .

January is the perfect time to pull out the duster and mop and spruce up the house, so it is fresh for the year ahead.  Rug Doctor, the carpet care experts have put together some handy tips to help you clean and transform your home for the year ahead.

Start from the top and work your way down
With each room start at the ceiling and get rid of the cobwebs before working your way down walls and finishing with the carpet or hard floor.

Care for your curtains
Are your curtains looking drab? Well take them down, remove the hooks and give them a quick warm cycle with a wet towel in the tumble dryer to get rid of the dust. Remove them immediately to prevent creasing and, after inserting the hooks, re-hang them.

Take it one room at a time
Planning is crucial so make sure you plan ahead and choose where to begin; make a list of the areas you want to target and tackle them one step at a time. Do little and often and if you add a couple of extra jobs to your regular housework routine, it’ll be a doddle.

Prepare the guest rooms for the next time
Spare rooms often double-up as a junk room throughout the year. If you’re had friend or relatives to stay with you during the Christmas holiday, give it a spritz.  Free up some hanging and storage space and  and freshen up the room for the next guest who comes to stay by opening the windows.  A carpet deep clean can refresh any musty smelling carpet, making all spare rooms look and smell inviting again

Add a splash of vinegar and a twist of lemon to make those windows shine
A top tip for making those windows squeaky clean is to mix 25% vinegar to 75% water in a bowl, adding a squirt of lemon juice for an extra fresh clean smell. Then, using an old piece of cotton towel, wipe the solution onto the glass, then simply wipe clean with a dust free cloth.

Deep clean those carpets
Did you know the average family of four sheds up to 3lbs of skin per year? Most of this ends up trapped in the carpet fibres along with food debris, pollen, dust mite droppings and all the other nasties that vacuuming alone can never remove. Surprisingly, despite these shocking facts, over 80 per cent of homeowners have never washed their carpets!

Nothing refreshes a room more than a deep cleaned carpet, and renting a wet extraction carpet cleaner can have your carpets looking, feeling and smelling as good as new in no time and at a fraction of the price of hiring a professional.

Shower Solution
Limescale around the bath taps and shower head are often something we live with, but can be easily cleaned with hot white vinegar.  But don’t use it on plated taps – you will ruin the plating! However, if your shower head is not removable don’t worry.  Simply take a plastic bowl, fill it with hot white vinegar (heated in a saucepan) and immerse the shower head in the bowl.

Take an old tooth brush and scrub the shower head.  Don’t forget to run the shower to remove excess vinegar.  Wipe the outside of the shower head with a wet cloth and buff up using a dry cloth.

Say “oh là là  ” to your laundry.
Boys in the house? Line their laundry baskets with a couple of sheets of paper towel sprinkled with tea tree oil to keep nasty smells at bay.
Jazz up the walls

The New Year is for new beginnings and change, so why not change the walls and jazz them up with a splash of colourful paint or be on trend this year with some retro inspired floral wallpaper.  Or go for a combination of classic blue and white to create an illusion of more light, which looks great in a flat or apartment.

Don’t forget the bed sheets!
Fresh bed sheets give you the peaceful, comforting night’s sleep you have been longing for. Spray some delicate fragrances like lavender or camomile to help you relax after the hectic festive period. There’s nothing like the moment when you slip into your comfy nightie or pyjamas and sink into your fluffy warm fresh clean duvet.
