Merry Christmas.

Just wanted to say merry Christmas to all my followers. thank you for all your support for the past 7 months its been amazing.  I will be taking a well deserved break and i will be back with three new competitions for you in the new year. Hope you all have a great Christmas & a full filled new year xxx

A new addition Jessie.

Well since back in April, when my dad and sister popped in to pets at home for some dog bits. Raiden has been dead set on having a hamster. The tantrum and tears he provided on that day was awful, i said to him when he's five he could have one thinking ahhh he will forget in 10 months time...... That was a massive mistake.

Ever since most weeks he asked how many sleeps till he's five and its been named for Jessie for months. With the amount of toys Raidens both getting I've gave in and Grandad got one for Christmas. So we set off for pets at home and left grandad with a lighter wallet & a new addition. The staff there was great and got a few out for Raiden to see and touch we went for a Syrian hamster as there bigger.

Raiden
has settled well with Jessie, even though hes been bit twice because of him poking he's fingers though, he asks to have her out all the time. So now I'm left with another chore of hamster cage cleaning per week now. She  is band to the living room at night as Raidens says she is far noisy on her wheel.

Run up to christmas.

Well i seem to be more stressed than normal I'm not too sure if its the lack of sleep, Raiden being off school or the whole stress of Christmas. All my presents are wrapped and if i have forgot anything well its tough luck lol

My Christmas is rather split as normally i spend Christmas eve with my nan and mom, we have something to eat and open presents. Christmas day we going to my other half's moms and spend it with her have a yummy dinner and come back after tea. Then boxing day i spend with my dad having another yummy dinner and coming back late. I'm 28 and never had to make a chritmas dinner yet.. What a result, plus it saves on my shopping bill.

My tree is looking rather Grrrr I'm not sure which child is worse, there having a good go at re-decorating it though, we made some lovely wooden tree decorations to go on it, I've saved a few for next year so Lexie can join in too.

I'm looking forward to a nice glass of rose on Christmas day to go with my dinner as last year i couldn't & spending it with the people that mean the most to me. Everyday should be cherished and often is taken for granted.

A very proud mummy moment was Raiden's first Christmas play. I was so excited to go and see it, it was amazing all the children was so good. Raiden did have the part of a wise man but the day before the play he decided he wanted to be a sheep & what a great sheep he played too.

Can poundland really save you money?

I'm a huge fan of Poundland i tend to say I'm only popping in for a few bits then i end up spending £10. I always get all my cleaning stuff from there, toothpaste, shower gel & good old sellotape. You really cant beat it really as the other supermarkets Ive noticed the Dettol spray is £1.87 in another leading supermarket that's a huge different in price. Now I'm not going back to work and now my maternity pay has ran out I've got to be super careful and try and cut down as much as possible with  my shopping and spread the shopping as much as i can.

So i wanted to share this latest news release with you.

News release

Shoppers will spend ten hours hunting out Christmas bargains throughout December
that’s before they’ve even purchased the goods!

A survey of 2,000 UK shoppers conducted by Europe’s biggest single price discount retailer, Poundland, has revealed that 40% of consumers plan to spend at least ten hours in December sniffing out Christmas bargains. And this is before they actually buy the goods; the ten hours will be dedicated to researching deals to ensure they are buying at the best possible price. What’s more a staggering 20% confirmed they actually expect to spend three hours each week in December researching where the best deals are – that’s equivalent to two whole working days!

The research asked how consumers feel about budgets in the run up to Christmas and found that five out of 10 shoppers visit at least three different stores to purchase weekly household and grocery essentials. By contrast, the same percentage confirmed that before the recession they were more likely to be loyal to one brand or shop. The reason for the change? To make sure they get the best deal to save money.

Jim McCarthy, CEO at Poundland comments: “It’s clear that when shoppers feel squeezed, brand loyalty becomes less important than getting the best price. Supermarkets change their offers all the time; it leaves consumers confused and pushes them to shop around before making a purchase. By contrast, with one single price point, shoppers can be savvy and budget as they fill their basket, making it easier to work out whether they’re getting a bargain. There’ll also be no shock with the final price of their basket at the till point.”

As more and more families start to feel the pinch, shopping in budget stores is becoming socially acceptable. Over half (52%) of consumers taking part in Poundland’s research said they now shopped regularly in budget stores - one in three of this group confirmed they wouldn’t have stepped foot in a discount store two years ago.

McCarthy continues: “Consumers now talk about ‘good deals’ they’ve found and share them with friends and family. It’s obviously great for discount retailers – however, we do need to continue offering shoppers exceptional quality products for amazing value.”

Poundland also asked 2,000 UK shoppers what retailer they thought would be offering the best deals on gifts and decorations for 2011. The top five favourites are:

1. Tesco
2. Asda
3. Poundland
4. Wilkinsons
5. Sainsburys

So here is a price comparison it really can save you money.

MAM Bite & relax teether phase 2

Well MAM have done it again, they have brought out a new lightweight mini teether perfect for tiny hands.

As you all know I'm having a difficult time at the moment and Lexie teething, shes up in the night and pretty clingy all day dribbling with her rosy reds so I jumped at the chance to test there new teether.

So whats so special about the new mini teethers? The innovative shape and structures provides instant pain relief, its extra light and handy for on the go. Its doesn't come with a clip so you would have to add on so it isn't thrown out of the pram while its out and about. I love the shape of it its amazing not like any other teether I've saw. I gave it to Lexie and it when straight in to her mouth and she kept finding it and chomping on it throughout the day, its the first time she has used a teether for the whole day. I think because its small and easy to use that's why i think she kept going back to it.

The teether comes again with its own fantastic sterilising box just like the MAM perfect soother. So you pop the teether in the box, add clean water and microwave for 3 minutes and there you go a clean teether again. This idea is great if you your on holiday or out at family's especially with the holiday season coming up this means you don't have to take a bag full of teethers along with you just the one and the box! Hurrah.

There is also a MAM Bite & relax teether phase 1 for younger babies which is shaped like a dummy for those front teeth.

These will be available to buy soon from, but please keep checking there facebook page to see when they are available

Dylon Fabric Paints

As you all know me and Raiden love anything crafty, we we thrilled to be sent some Dylon fabric paints. The paints came and they was pretty glittery Christmas colours.

Unlike other fabric paints, Dylon's remain soft even when they're dry. Whatever you decide, just iron once dry to have a design that will last. They come in pots and squeezy bottle so are easy to use.

I asked Raiden what he wanted to do with them and he said something for he's baby sister Lexie for Christmas. So we had some plain white bibs, i thought it would be a perfect present off her big brother to pop in her stocking for Christmas day.

We sent off and Raiden had planned out what he wanted to do a picture of her with a star and a heart. The products are very easy to handle and he did pretty well, we had a bit of a blob where he squeezed a bit hard but that was it. The glitter was very pretty in the paint is quick drying too.

The gold pot we found a little paint brush so we could paint around the glitter.

Raiden really enjoyed the designing and painting the bib and has asked if he can do a T-shirt next for himself, so it looks like some more fabric paints for Christmas.

To check out the massive range of colours please pop over to the DYLON website.

Christmas Countdown Lexie's First Christmas

Don't think there is anything more exciting that a first event. Lexie will be eight months this year, so its rather exciting.

Last year at Christmas it was awful, Raiden got chicken pox two days before Christmas eve and he was so poorly, lots of tears. We felt so sorry for him.  So this year i want lots of smiles and laughter.

This year as always I'm prepared, I'm the type of person that rarely buys anything for full price unless i have too. So i got all of Lexie's presents in the mothercare sale every one had either 30%-50% off saving me a total of £75. Most of Raiden's presents i picked up from TXMaxx saving me £45.

Ive recently starting comping in May to pass the time while Lexie was sleeping and since then Ive been hooked. Ive been very lucky and won some amazing prizes in total over £11,000 worth lots of extra goodies for the kids. Raiden's artwork has been popular too and has won him a massive box of sweets, which he was thrilled about and a firework picture that won me a Yummy Mummy bag. I do have an amazing son :)

So back to Christmas, we decided against a real tree due to Lexie picking up every little bit off the floor she can find and eating it so we didn't want her chomping on pine needles. We decorated the tree and she been amazed by the all sparkly and shinny stuff but pulling all the baubles off and getting stuck in the lights of the tree! I'm amazed she hasn't pulled it down yet, but Raiden has. Lexie has been treated to an advent calender which the chocolate gets mostly down her front rather than her eating it.

We made some yummy biscuit decorations to pop on there tree with glitter icing, don't think there many left when i counted though.

All the kids presents are wrapped and ready to go, brought lots of stocking fillers and Raiden has rather yummy Cake pops to go in he's. Think I'm more excited than the kids, although i think Lexie will be more impressed with the paper and shiny bows i think.

Say Hello to Lexie Claus.

Funky Giraffe Bibs & Exclusive Sleepsuit Range

Well we was lucky to get a huge parcel from Funky Giraffe Bibs. Lexie has been dribbling like crazy the past few weeks so they couldn't of came at a better time. I opened the parcel and pulled out four gorgeous bibs, they are made from soft cotton fronts with a wild and funky range of colours and designs. There Dribble bibs have 2 sets of Nickel Free poppers for a comfy fit, and a fleece backing helps stop moisture soaking through the dribble bib. I'm glad they had poppers and not Velcro as i brought some Velcro ones, and they looked like they was really tight. Where the Funky giraffe bibs looked lovely and cosy.

After looking on there website they really live up to there name they have a massive range of funky designs there is something for everyone.

The designs we got was a funky giraffe, a pink dotty, a gorgeous flower pattern and the families favourtive a pink camper van. The other half wants a sleep suit in this design, he he. We went thought all four in the one day, told you she was a dribble monster. They did slightly soak though so i did have to change her top the once.

I popped one on her for her baby club and asked where it was from and how pretty it was and different. The bibs came up as good as new after a wash and a tumble dry and still unstained so pretty durable and long lasting. a lot of my bibs have got dull and tatty after a few washes so these are great!

Ive already got my next five designs picked, so why don't you pop over and have a look as there fantastic range -  Click Here For Funky Giraffe

The next item is an exclusive as its not being released until the new year.  We had a gorgeous pink babygrow with a silver crown on sent to us . It was a lovely fit and not to heavy so we popped over a sleeping bag on the night and she was really snug.  These are pretty cool and i hope they add some of there bib designs on them.

The last item was a all in one bib, which with Lexie now having more finger foods was great. No more surprises up the sleeves or mess all over her tops, as this completely covers the whole front her. Its easy to clean and had a pretty pattern on it. All i need is shower cap on her head and i would be well away.

Fun Packed Day

Well with the teachers striking Raiden was off school, so first of all he drawed a lovely angel and covered her from head to toe in glitter along with a large portion of it on the carpet too.

Next was baking cupcakes, well a dear friend is always making me rather hungry with her baking statues and these cupcakes popped up which she had made and i thought they was amazing. Cookie Monsters yum!

So we made the cupcakes are usual and left them to cool.

We mixed blue paste with butter, icing sugar and coconut to make it look furry and fluffy. We added it on the the cupcakes popped a cookie into the cake making sure they was icing under to help it stick out and added to giant button with black pipping icing. For next time i need to get a lighter paste, smaller buttons and a throw away piping bag for next time and maybe some gloves as it gave me very blue hands.

We finshed off with watching some buddies dvds, which Raiden had won from a fancy dress competition. Overall a fantastic day.
