Bambino Mio nappy challenge Day one

Well I've always been curious about re-usable nappies, I'm gonna be honest the initial cost has always put me off. The lovely Bambino Mio asked me to do a nappy challenge to use one re-usable nappy a day for a week to see what i thought. So i thought why not! After getting the nappies and doing some research online I'm very shocked with what i found. Did anyone know that around 8 million disposable nappies are thrown away every day in the UK, Its also said it can take up too 500 Years for a  disposable nappy to Biodegrade. I'm totally shocked i seriously didn't think its was them figures at all.

After telling my mum about my challenge, she actually laughed and said i remember them nappies yours was always sparking white and them big old safely pins.  I had to tell her them days are long gone.  the days of the old Terry squares needing skills in origami to fold to the right size and the old big safety pins. although you can still choose this option if you like, and you can buy all sorts of different colours too. Today's real nappies (waterproof pants, or wraps) are made from soft, breathable fabrics, most are cotton, some organic. They come in different styles according to the supplier and a variety of sizes. These real nappies are tailored to fit the baby, are easy to put on and are normally fastened with Velcro, rather like disposables nappies! By using biodegradable one-way liners most of the solid waste can be flushed straight down the toilet, where sewage belongs.

So Day one, well i was totally shocked when i opened the box, Holly crackers is what i thought! But to be honest two goes and i got it right i hope! There not as completed as i initially thought, the instructions where super clear.

In my bambino box, the contains were:

2 prewashed mionappies
1 miosoft nappy cover
50 mioliners

Ok so day one and it wasnt half as bad as i thought, Nappy kept everything in, no leaks or anything, didnt seem to bother Lexie as all either having it on. I think she looks rather cool as a Bambino Baby Dont you??
